1. Phi Beach

It is in an incredible location, on the Gulf of Arzachena, between granite rocks on the sea right in front of the sunset. The aperitif is obviously the best time to go there. It’s in the heart of the luxurious and fashionable Costa Smeralda, so it’s not cheap (gin tonic 15 € for example) but the music is beautiful and the atmosphere is always fun.

2. Blue Beach

Fantastic bar on the trendy beach of Marinella, near Porto Rotondo. You can have umbrellas and luxury lits during the day and eat on the sea at lunchtime, but the best is the DJ set after sunset!

3. Rupi’s

It is a surf school, on the east beach of Porto Pollo, with a restaurant that becomes a disco every night. The aperitif at sunset is highly recommended. Food is ok, drinks are better. The place is fantastic, a long white sand beach facing the La Maddalena archipelago. There are people of all ages around the world who came here for surfing.

4. White Beach

At sunset time the island of Tavolara in front of you turns orange than pink than purple.

5. Calaveras

Very informal atmosphere, excellent cocktails even without alcohol, vegan food aperitifs.

The Captain Corrado

Corrado was born in Genoa and grew up in Olbia since he was a child. He has 25 years experience in commanding tourist boats all over the northeast of the island. He has been a scuba diving instructor for many years and is now a big fan of snorkeling. In autumn it collects hundreds of mushrooms and its risotto with porcini mushrooms is fantastic. Kayak Tour: before the start​

In the wonderful location of Le Farfalle beach Ecosport Sardinia has its nautical base. Single or double kayaks, there are models for the expert as for beginners. Before the tour starts, the crew prepares kayaks: snorkeling equipment, water, and waterproof bags on every kayak. Then a short lesson in the shade of the pine forest teaches everyone how to enjoy kayaking and snorkeling. Two tours depending on the direction of the wind: a tour to the northwest with mistral wind and a tour to the south-east with sirocco wind.

The winemaker Roberto

Roberto Gariup was born and raised in Friuli. A historical wine region in the northeast of Italy, famous for dry white wines. He arrived on the island in 2006 to join his Sardinian wife Marianna, and here he produced unforgettable wines for several wineries. Today he’s one of the main experts in Sardinia of skin contact wines.

His touch is elegant and brave, he puts the whole island in a sip of wine.

From the hills that surmount the small village of Monti comes this Vermentino di Gallura Superior. A white wine fruity and soft, enveloping with a strong hint of almond on the persistent finish.

A highlight of the kayaking tour is definitely the snorkeling stop. With our equipment, you will discover the underwater world: starfish, octopus and hundreds of colorful fish. Very pleasant both for experts and for those who have never done it before.

1. Pecorino Cheese

Pecorino has a very old tradition together with the breeding of sheep, in our days the sheep still live wild on the island and eat a huge variety of seasonal herbs. It is made in two versions: young or aged. The young Pecorino Sardo PDO is about 1-2 months, while the aged one is more than 6 months old.

2. Bottarga

The bottarga is obtained from the eggs of the mullet. It is massaged by hand to eliminate air pockets, then dried and seasoned with sea salt for a few weeks. The result is a hard, dry slab covered with natural egg coating. Excellent scratched on spaghetti or sliced with fresh tomatoes.

3. “Carasu” Bread

It is thin and crunchy bread cooked in the oven, made with durum wheat flour, salt, yeast, and water, then separates it into two sheets that are cooked again. The recipe is very old and was invented by shepherds, who stay away from home for months. The “Carasau” bread can last up to a year without any chemicals.

4. Ricotta Cheese

Ricotta is a cheese made from sheep’s milk, cow’s or goat’s whey left over from cheese production. It is excellent with oil and salt or with honey or jam. It is highly perishable so it is better to eat it in a few days. However, it is also produced in smoked varieties that are conservable for much longer.

5. Olive Oil

The olives here are of a small and green variety. It is made anywhere on the island with a slight difference between each area. Cold pressing is the most important feature. Our oil is delicate and subtle, perfect with fish recipes, ricotta and obviously bread. We are used to cooking “Carasau” bread with oil and salt, so it became the “Guttiau” bread.

Sardinia island is in the middle of the Mediterranean and many birds live here or stop during their migrations, finding favorable conditions to feed themselves and nesting.

1.  Seagull

Gulls are typically medium to large, usually gray or white, often with black markings on the head or wings and webbed feet. They typically have harsh wailing or squawking calls. Their food often includes crabs and small fish. They are great fliers and you can see them flying everywhere every day.

2. Pink Flamingo

The most common of the plumage is pinkish-white, but the wing coverts are red and the flight feathers are black and the legs are entirely pink. The call is a goose-like honking. It resides in mudflats and shallow coastal lagoons with salt water, sucking water through its bill and filters out small shrimp, seeds, algae, and mollusks.

3. Shearwater

These birds fly with stiff wings very close to the water “shearing” the tips of waves, to move across wavefronts with the minimum of active flight. They feed on fish, squid, and similar seafood. Their primary feeding technique is diving, with some species diving to depths of 70 m.

4. Cormorant

Cormorants are medium-to-large birds, the majority of species have dark feathers. The bill is long, thin and hooked. Their feet are like fins. All species are fish-eaters. They are excellent divers, underwater they propel themselves with their feet with help from their wings, diving as deep as 45 meters.

5. Heron

The Herons have long legs and long beaks. You can easily see them in humid areas but sometimes we meet them in the sea as well. Although herons resemble birds in some other families, such as the storks and cranes, they differ from these in flying with their necks retracted, not outstretched.
